Spooky Adventures: Haunted Hayrides in Indiana

Eeek: I'm a total 'fraidy cat so when Halloween rolls around and my family is ISO spine-tingling and haunted fun, I have to do a little research first. This year’s charge: Find us one of the haunted hayrides in Indiana to try out. In case you're also leading your family's boo crew this year, I'm sharing my discoveries with you because not only do hayrides make the perfect Halloween well, haunts... they're also perfect for gathering friends and family on a night of great scares.

Here are 5 Haunted Hayrides in Indiana:

1. Sleepy Hollow Hayride - at France Park in Logansport

Located in Cass County, this first reco is a double feature haunt offering both a scary hayride (30 minutes long) or a haunted trail walk thru the Hollow that travels thru seven different outdoor scare zones. This Hayride experience is open weekends thru the month of October, and includes plenty for thrill seekers including clowns, witches, a cemetery, and zombies that will make you wish you were in a different zip code. Keep eyes peeled for a special Kids Day where activities tame for your smallest scream squad members.

2. Indiana Fear Farm - Jamestown

I've never been but heard from my family thrill seekers that this is central Indiana's ultimate premiere Halloween attraction. Indiana Fear Farm has tons of haunted attractions onsite from a haunted corn maze, to a (covers eyes) Slaughter Barn. But the main event is "Indiana's Favorite Haunted Hayride" - suitable for all ages according to their website! - featuring the Headless Horseman.

3. Conner Prairie Headless Horseman - Fishers

We love Conner Prairie's annual special events, and Headless Horseman where it's "Scarie on the Prairie" is the perfect attraction for kids of all ages. Each day features a full evening of live entertainment, the Trail of Terror corn field maze, Perilous Plunge tube slides, and the iconic haunted hayride ofc. Conner Prairie's grounds come alive for this event, so snag your tickets for after-dark and a good scare.

4. Woodland Park's Annual Haunted Hayride - Portage

There isn't much detail available on this limited-time haunted hay ride, but at only $5 per person, can already say those are scary good savings. Get there early to secure a spot in line.

5. Hanna Haunted Hayride - Indianapolis

Home of some of the largest haunted events in central Indiana, Hanna Haunted Acres holds the unique title of "Indy's Best Haunted Hayride." It's a mile of nightmares, fire and explosions, and keeping your woods wit about you. Step off the hayride and you'll have access to all Hanna Haunted Acres has to offer including one of the best haunted houses in the state.
