Did you know Nordstrom has a kids shoe-tying clinic?
Parenting is all about milestones. You get your little ones sleeping through the night, taking their first steps, and potty trained. For many of us, the next great achievement involves shoe tying. Luckily, Nordstrom department stores offer “Aces with the Laces” to help. Come along with our CityMom family to learn more about what this class offers!
Everything you need to know about Nordstrom’s shoe tying clinic
The program starts with registering your lacers-in-training. To do this, contact your local Nordstrom children’s shoe department. Ensure you know the location, time, and entry door as the class is usually 30 minutes before the store opens, on the third Saturday of the month. This is an amazing perk as the instructor can dedicate their undivided attention to the shoe-tying process without additional customer inquiries.
What to expect from the class
Class begins with the distribution of shoes that will be used to practice tying. The instructor then demonstrates several shoe-tying techniques during class, allowing families to pick the strategy that works best for their child’s fingers.
We loved the I do, we do, you do approach of the class. Everyone was first asked to watch the teacher, then practiced alongside the teacher, and finally had some independent time to practice each knot.
Tying it all together
Class ends by switching out the borrowed sneakers for soft packaged cookies. The group then heads to the checkout counter for additional items including a class completion certificate, shoelaces, and a balloon. If you’re ready to try out those new laces, browse around the store after class for a new set of shoes.
