But first, what is Symphony on the Prairie?
Let's start with the basics here. Symphony on the Prairie (presented by central Indiana Kroger stores!) is a one-of-a-kind summer concert season featuring the talented musicians of the ISO at the scenic Conner Prairie Amphitheatre. Featuring everything from musical tributes like this year's ultimate tribute to Whitney Houston, patriotic fanfare with the Star-Spangled Symphony, disco grooves, or a symphonic rock hybrid (such as the music of Led Zeppelin), it’s a musical celebration under the stars perfect for families, date nights, or a girls’ night out.

1. Subscribe to Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra newsletters
The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra does offer occasional ticket deals, and the best place to start is to signup for their email list. Although their Symphony Summer Special - offering tickets to four concerts for $99! - ran for a limited this past April, it's a great reminder to set your alarms early in the season for the best Symphony on the Prairie discounts and get on the email list for future announcements.
2. Stop in to Kroger for Symphony ticket deals
Yes, your neighborhood Central Indiana Kroger stores has discounts! Tickets purchased at a Kroger location offer a “best-price guarantee.” To receive a Kroger ticket discount, you'll need to pop in to the store, scan the QR code at a Central Indiana Kroger location (we found ours near the Customer Service Desk), and you'll be linked to a special spot to purchase tickets on the ISO’s website.

(Want to splurge? Huntington Bank Sunset Lounge tickets offer an exclusive covered area with reserved tables, private bathrooms, a private bar, special parking access, and provided seating. Depending on availability, this may only be available for select concerts but check the ISO website for more details.)
5. Parking is Free
Okay so maybe not the discount tip you were looking for but it's still one of our faves. Paid parking in special parking access lots closer to the venue is available, but if you're really thinking budget-friendly, the main, (and still easy-access parking lots!) offer completely free parking.
6. Bring select supplies from home
One of the things we love - attendees can bring many of the comforts from home, allowing you to have the ultimate VIP experience at every performance. Blankets and folding chairs are allowed for seating. Avoid food lines by bringing your own meal: picnics, takeout, or snacks are all allowed. Glass containers are not permitted, but other beverage containers are, so bring bevvies to enjoy in cans or plastic. And if rainy weather is predicted, pack a poncho or raincoat to keep dry.
Bonus Symphony on the Prairie hacks to know before you go:
Arrive Early: The best general admission lawn spots fill up quickly, so to get a good spot, get there early! Don't worry, there’s plenty of pre-concert entertainment and people-watching to enjoy while you wait.
The more popular shows will sell out: Looking at the 2025 lineup, we already suspect Disney In Concert, the Taylor Swift sing-along party, and John Williams and Friends will sellout. If you think it’s a popular show, that’s because it probably is. Grab tickets as early as possible to ensure you have a seat!
