You have to come to Mommahood, mom.

Hey momma,

Man alive what a few months 2019 has already dealt us. I'm tired. No, exhausted. No, begging for some relief. I live for the days when we have theCityMoms outings - a little time for connection with other moms living motherhood alongside me. I'm so here for the moments when we can glance at each other across the table and nod our heads in fortitude.I've found my ability to self-love is waning. I'm tougher on myself. More expectant to produce in some way whether being hyperfocused on my kids or overcharged at work or dialing it up on the homefront. My self-care has been replaced by mom guilt. I shouldn't spend the extra money on a massage when I could save it for our back-to-school clothing budget which will be here before I know it. I *could* do a face mask tonight but instead I probably need to scrub the food from the underside of the table. I don't need to go for that trail run because the kids could need me.But the fact is: I matter. My sanity matters. I am more than just a mother, and I need to take care of myself any way I can. When momma isn't happy, ain't nobody happy in my house.

It's with all these thoughts in mind that we announce:

theCityMoms present: Mommahood

Sponsored by The Beauty Bar of Geist and Carmel

What is this Mommahood event?

It's an afternoon dedicated to self-care for women, in honor of Mother's Day. We won't talk to you about potty training or best stroller recos or common core math - because we believe your self-care is important. You matter. You are worth loving. And we're going to take care of you. Not you as a mother. Actually you. And from talking with our CityMoms, we know most Mother's Day celebrations just want to target you for your mom role. But not us: Because you are more than just mom. At theCityMoms we KNOW Mom. She's an individual. A stunner. A shaker. A doer. The one who sacrifices herself to make sure others are happy. The badass leader of her clan. The one with the thankless tasks and the smiling face even though it's 2am and she's changing another bedsheet. Or diaper. And DAMN she deserves some respect. Love. Recognition. Empowerment. So ahead of this Mother's Day, we're gonna spoil her like mad at Mommahood.

In fact, you don't even need to be a mom - we're just calling it Mommahood since well, it's in our name. But if you like what you're hearing about this event, then you are invited!Hopefully this gives you a good feel for Mommahood and why we're excited to welcome you. But if you have any other questions, I'm always available at info@theCityMoms.org. Now go get your ticket momma - you're worth it and we're ready to show you just that.
