7 Things to do during the Olympic Swim Trials in Indy

No city does sporting events like Indianapolis, so it should be no surprise that the city has converted Lucas Oil Stadium into two pools worthy of the 2024 Olympic Swim Trials (happening June 15-23).

And a fun fact: It’s also the 100th anniversary of the last time Indy hosted the trials in 1924. Join this historic event and while you’re here, check out these other incredible “to-dos” in the Circle City.

1. Attend the trials’ opening night and be a record-breaker

2. Pose in front of the (replica) Eiffel Tower

In honor of the host city of Paris, AES Indiana has sponsored a 66-foot-tall replica of the Eiffel Tower. And it’s right near Georgia Street, which makes our #3 thing to do…

3. Check out USA Swimming Live

Presented by Purdue University, come see how Georgia Street has been transformed into a family-friendly hub featuring live concerts, art, food and drink, and more! Wander and enjoy the music for free, and don’t miss the Eiffel Tower.

4. Visit the Toyota Aqua Zone

Get ready for a fanfest unlike any other, the Toyota Aqua Zone, located inside the Indiana Convention Center. Entry is free for this unique, interactive event where you can even meet some of the athletes!

5. Experience “Paris” in Indy

Dine at top Indy restaurants for your French cuisine fix like Martha Hoover’s prized Petite Chou, snag a beautiful croissant from Leviathan Bakery, or a macaron from Gallery Pastry Bar downtown.

Does all this swim talk have you ready to hit the pool?

6. Get a gold medal of your own

Yes, seriously! There will be two opportunities for you to earn a gold medal either by volunteering to support the trial events or by joining “24 Miles Before Trials.” Track your mileage and once you hit 24, you’re golden.

7. Take it next level with the Podium Club

Why just watch the trials when you can experience them with a ticket upgrade to the Podium Club? This premium option includes seats, food, drinks, and a pool tour. In case you need more incentive: Each purchase does some good by donating tickets to a youth-serving organization. Contact to make arrangements here.

Now, you’re ready to make a splash with all the must-do activities on this list! And be sure to Bookmark this interactive map as your #1 resource for all things Swim Trials in Indy.
