Where to eat in an igloo in Indianapolis in 2023

Winter temps are rolling in, and outdoor patio dining options are heating up. Whether you’re not comfortable eating out in a full restaurant just yet (thanks flu/strep/covid…need we go on?!) or aching to get in on the igloo* trend, we’ve gotchu.

*And hey, there are oodles of heated patio options around the city - for this piece, we’re just focusing on igloos or similar concepts.

Here’s where to eat in an igloo across Indianapolis:

Indianapolis - Downtown

Pivot Bar x Balcony at Hyatt Place Hyatt House

Address: 130 S. Pennsylvania Street, Indianapolis
Cost: Contact for pricing
Time limit: None noted

Igloo options downtown in ‘23 are pretty limited, but this one offers a chef-driven menu, a plush patio with fire pits, and views of iconic Indianapolis locales. A VIP reservation in the igloos at Pivot Bar and Balcony includes charcuterie, hot chocolate, and select menu offerings. They are conveniently located on the second floor at the Hyatt Place Hyatt House and offer a casual, welcoming experience for out-of-towners and locals alike!

Carmel

Wine & Rind

Address: 254 Veterans Way, Suite G, Carmel
Cost: None noted
Time limit: None noted

We love charcuterie, but there’s something about the holiday season that makes it even more appealing. Carmel’s Wine & Rind is serving up fantastic boards, as well as over forty wines, and you can order it all from within one of their three private igloos that seat up to eight. Call to reserve (317) 669-6566.

Vivante French Eatery

Address: 1 Carmichael Square, Carmel
Cost: Free
Time limit: None noted

Located just off the Monon Trail at the Hotel Carmichael, Vivante French Eatery guests can enjoy a cozy igloo experience and the lunch or dinner menu. Igloos seat up to six and are heated.

Fishers

King Jugg Brewing

Address: 11100 Lantern Road, Fishers
Cost:
No cost to rent, however, there is a minimum spend of $100 Sun-Weds and $200 Thurs-Sats
Time limit:
90 minutes

One of Fishers’ latest hot spots, King Jugg, is bringing out igloos for the winter. They are seasonally appointed with lights and decor, with tables set for your private dinner. Note the igloos are available for reservation only, seat up to six, and are heated.

McCordsville

Daniel’s Vineyard

Address: 9061 N 700 W, McCordsville
Cost:
$40 Weekdays -$75 Weekends
Time limit:
2 hours

Find an experience worthy of the heart of wine country without leaving the heart of the Midwest at Daniel’s Vineyard, especially during igloo season! They offer eight differently-themed igloos to reserve for everything from dinner with the family to wine tasting with friends. Each igloo is heated, seats eight, and is located to enjoy live music during one of their many events.

Noblesville

Spencer Farm Winery

Address: 7015 E. 161st St., Noblesville
Cost: $20 Wednesday-Thursday; $40 Friday-Sunday
Time limit: 2 hours/additional cost per hour after

OK…so they’re not exactly igloos - but they’re yurts, and we think that’s close enough. Each weatherproof yurt seats six comfortably and is furnished with cushioned seating, string lights, and an electric fireplace! BYOblankets, pick up some wine and reserve your yurt before the season is up.

Westfield

Urban Vines

Address: 303 E. 161st Street, Westfield
Cost: $30 Sunday-Wednesday; $50 Thursday-Saturday
Time limit: 2 hours

Urban Vines definitely brought the heat to Indy’s dining scene as the first to debut igloos. All that’s needed is a wintery day, great friends, and great wine, for the perfect experience. Available November thru March, they seat up to eight and include a heater, music, and lights.

Field Brewing

Address: 303 E. Main Street, Westfield
Cost: $40
Time limit: 2 hours

Eeek, the spot the inspired this post! Field is home to three heated igloos on their outdoor patio overlooking the woods (the perfect location to enjoy Field Brewing’s fabulous Brussels sprouts dish if you ask me). Each seats 6-8 people.
