Fall Getaways Worth the Trip

Saw us talking fall travel on TV? Here are three easy ways to squeeze in a getaway this season—without automatically booking a flight.

Stay Close to Home

You don’t have to go far to make a weekend feel like a getaway. Book a hotel in your own city or head somewhere within an easy drive, then use CityPASS or a local attraction pass to build an instant itinerary.

Head to a National Park

Cooler weather + smaller crowds make fall one of our favorite times to visit.

A few worth the trip:

  • Great Smoky Mountains → fall foliage

  • Zion → dramatic canyon color

  • Yellowstone → cooler-weather wildlife viewing

Have a fourth grader? The Every Kid Outdoors program gives fourth graders + their families free entry to national parks for the school year.

Take the Train

Want the trip itself to feel like part of the adventure? Try a scenic rail getaway. It’s slower, different + gives everyone permission to enjoy the ride instead of racing to the destination.

What to Know Before You Go Always check current park entry, reservation + shuttle requirements before heading out—they can change from season to season!
