  1. Visit an apple orchard.
  2. Go hiking through the fall leaves. {May we recommend the trails or Fort Harrison State Park or Ritchey Woods Nature Preserve?}
  3. Conquer a corn maze. Indy With Kids has a great list of them.
  4. Hit the pumpkin patch. Here are our faves.
  5. Visit the Conner Prairie Apple Store for donuts, candied apples and all the sweets you can handle.
  6. Find a hayride.
  7. Test your scary side at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis 55th Annual Haunted House – this year’s theme is the ‘Grim-nasium.’
  8. Mark your calendars for the annual Fishers Parks and Recreation Boo Bash in October.
  9. Rake up a stack of leaves. Jump in.
  10. Remember those pumpkins from #4? Carve ’em.
  11. Indulge in a little Friday Night Lights football game at your local high school.
  12. Enjoy a fall brew at your fave local brewery {ours: Liter House, Sun King, Taxman and Black Circle}.
  13. Plan a trip to the Irvington Halloween Festival in late October.
  14. Host a costume party.

  17. Head to an Oktoberfest.
  18. Pop in to the last month of local outdoor farmers markets.

  20. Plan your Halloween costumes.
  21. Grab the girlfriends and head to Penn + Beech for some fall-inspired candle/home fragrance/room spray making.

  23. Peek in on the Indiana State Museum The Art of the Brick traveling LEGO bricks art exhibit, opening September 29th.
  24. Buy pumpkin spice everything. Enjoy it.
  25. Snag a waitlist spot for the Broad Ripple Park Moonlight Egg Hunt.
  26. Make a backyard bonfire. Invite friends.
  27. Unguard! Visit the Indiana Renaissance Faire, October 6-7.
  28. Throw on a sweater, heat up hot chocolate and have a movie night in.
  29. Enjoy some non-scary fun at the Hauntless Halloween with Holliday Park – includes fun forest creatures, campfire and more – on October 18.
  30. Don’t lose your head: The annual Conner Prairie Headless Horseman has now returned! Read all about it.
  31. Put on your costumes and tackle the Indianapolis Zoo’s Zoo Boo, running October 4-28.
  32. Discover Fall Movies In The Park – the Rivi Club in midtown Indy still has some planned!
