/, The confessional/I’m a full-time working mom. And yes I’m proud.

Can I be honest with you for a second?

I don’t know about you but I’m still trying to figure out this Mom thing. I’m a full-time employee, full-time mom, and full-time wife.

I’ve been juggling all 3 jobs for 4 years now.

Yes, I wish I had a better formula on how we get through each day alive, but I don’t.

Maybe that’s it: Low standards like laying down at night happy because everyone is simply alive.

Background details first: I got married at 26 and became an instant mom to three kiddos, now 15, 12, and 11. I worked full time as an accounting professional and loved my job! Fast forward three months later and the arrival of our fourth kiddo – now almost 3 years old. I loved my time home with our nugget but was excited to get back to work with the grownups. Sadly, I had to leave the job I loved because it was too many hours away from my family. I found a new hourly job that helped with the balance but wasn’t by any stretch the perfect scenario.

Do I feel guilty being away from the kids? Sometimes.

Do I wish I were there for more of their milestones? Of course!

At the end of the day though, I’m a working mom and I’m proud.

I’m proud I can financially help support my kids dreams.

I’m proud I can show my daughter that she can make it “all” work if that’s what she wants.

I’m proud to show my sons what a strong woman looks like and that strong women should be celebrated, not feared.

All moms find their balance in different ways, and I’m sure as my kids lives change, so will my plan.

For now though, I work, I mom {hey, that’s a verb!}, I wife and I’ll go to bed happy that we all made it through today alive.

I’m proud.
